UV signs pact with Maasin City College

CEBU, Philippines - The University of the Visayas (UV), the City of Maasin and the Maasin City College signed an agreement for UV to offer some courses at the Maasin City College.

The agreement, signed on June 2, 2011, is for UV to offer Hotel, Restaurant Management, Tourism and Post Graduate courses at the Maasin City College beginning school year 2011-2012.

UV Executive Vice President Dr. Jose R. Gullas signed the consortium agreement alongside the Maasin City mayor and Maloney L. Samaco, the school’s president.

With the consortium, UV will make available its faculty members, technical expertise, library and laboratory facilities for use by the students of Maasin City College.

The agreement signing was witnessed by officials of the City of Maasin, Vice Mayor, Maria Effie Abiera-Sabandal, the city Administrator, Atty. Feorillo A. Demeterio Jr., the Investment Officer Wilfredo O. Justimbaste and Mrs. Maria Chona M. Samaco. Also present were UV Vice President for Administration, Dr. Eladio C. Dioko, UV College of Business Administration Dean Rosemarie Español and Atty. Joseph M. Baduel, UV VP External Affairs, Dr. Gelacio T. Jumao-as, UV Budget Officer.
