CEBU, Philippines - Two men were shot dead while their female employer was seriously injured after they were shot by two armed men in Barangay Talamban yesterday afternoon.
Dead on the spot were Randy Librando, 39, from Barangay Basak Mandaue City, and Dioscoro Abendan, 45, from Barangay Arpili, Balamban town. Their employer, Thelma Ygot, owner of Talamban Glass Supply, was still in critical condition as of press time.
Juliet Genon, Ygot’s niece, said two men came to their store around 3 p.m., posing as customers and asked for the price of glass windows.
The two men then walked towards Librando, Ygot’s driver, who was inside the establishment, and suddenly shot him.
Abendan, the brother of Ygot, came to Librando’s rescue but was also shot by the assailants. Both sustained gunshot wounds to the head.
Ygot was also hit in the head by a stray bullet. She was rushed to the hospital.
After the shooting, the assailants fled and got on a waiting motorcycle driven by an accomplice.
Responding policemen recovered several empty shells of a .45 cal. pistol from the crime scene.
Police believe Ygot was not the target. While it may be unrelated, SPO3 Rey Cuyos of the Homicide Section said Ygot’s husband was also shot and killed in a previous shooting incident.
The police are looking into several motives behind the incident, including a love triangle. (FREEMAN)
