Brigada Eskwela in CV successful
CEBU, Philippines - With the success of the Brigada Eskwela, the Department of Education said public schools across the country are now ready for the opening of classes on June 6 despite the perennial problem of lack of classrooms, buildings, textbooks, among others.
Clara Rebecca Falconi, DepEd regional information officer, said in order to minimize these problems, education officials would normally ask for help from the local government units.
Aside from tapping the local officials, DepEd also seeks assistance from private companies and some non-government organizations.
Falconi said that the Brigada Eskwela, held from May 23 to 27, was very successful in Central Visayas.
The Brigada Eskwela is a school maintenance program nationwide participated by education stakeholders contributing their time and resources to ensure that public schools are ready for the opening of classes.
