CEBU, Philippines - A cigarette vendor was killed by a drunk man during a fiesta celebration in Barangay Anunang Sur, Bogo City Saturday afternoon after he refused to give a cigarette stick to the suspect.
Roland Espinoza, 26, of Barangay Binabag was declared dead on arrival at the Severo Verallo Hospital because of a stab wound in his left chest. The suspect, William Momongan, 23, who fled after the stabbing incident, was later found in a secluded area with a gunshot wound in the stomach.
Momongan was taken to the Vicente Sotto Memorial Medical Center where he is recuperating.
Senior Police Officer 3 Allan Dosdos of Bogo City Police Office said that Espinoza was selling cigarettes when Momongan demanded for a stick. When the victim refused, the suspect stabbed him in the chest.
A commotion happened prompting the barangay tanods to chase Momongan, who was later found with a gunshot wound in the stomach at a secluded area in the barangay.
The police said they have yet to identify the person responsible in the shooting of Momongan. (FREEMAN)
