Secretary: PB dads did not snub Magpale's inaugural

-

CEBU, Philippines - The Provincial Board secretary defended the five board members who were earlier reported to have snubbed the inaugural address of Cebu Vice Governor Agnes Magpale.

Sangguniang Panlalawigan Secretary Aniceta Pasaylo said the five PB members who were absent last Monday were on official leave and certainly did not have the intention to snub Magpale’s inaugural address.

Majority Floor Leader Peter John Calderon and his buddy in the 2nd District, PB Member Wilfredo Caminero were on vacation leave.

The two have been absent in PB sessions since May 9. They were not also able to attend Magpale’s oathtaking in Danao City.

PB Member Arleigh Jay Sitoy was on sick leave last Monday; Aladin Willyamie Caminero, president of the Sangguniang Kabataan Federation was attending his enrolment while PB Member Julian Daan was in his house after he was held up by a lone robber in the morning.

Magpale said the absence of some of her colleagues even during her oath taking has not bothered her as she knew their appointments prior to the event.

Magpale, during her inaugural address, asked the commitment of support and cooperation of her colleagues. She encouraged punctuality in attending caucuses and sessions but as she made the appeal to her colleagues in the 15-member body, some of them were absent. — (FREEMAN)
