CEBU, Philippines - A trisikad driver died after he was stabbed repeatedly by a fellow driver in Santo Niño corner Missionaries Streets, Barangay Suba, Friday afternoon.
Rodney Padayao, legally aged, resident of Sitio Mahayahay in the same barangay, succumbed to multiple stab wounds. Police identified the suspect as Eduardo Inog, 24.
Homicide Section investigators said the murder took place after the two struggled for the position of a trisikad unit. The victim wanted to borrow the trisikad of the suspect but the latter refused. This resulted in a heated argument that only stopped when some bystanders pacified them.
The suspect left but later came back already armed with a 12-inch knife and suddenly stabbed the victim several times.
The defenseless Padayao sustained stabbed wounds in the different parts of his body. He was rushed to the Cebu City Medical Center where he was declared dead few minutes later.
The suspect, on the other hand, surrendered to responding barangay tanods. —/WAB (FREEMAN)
