Magpale to take oath as vice governor

- Mylen P. Manto -

CEBU, Philippines - Provincial Board Member Agnes Magpale, who is now acting vice governor of Cebu Province, will take oath on Tuesday before Judge Maria Josefa Ramos of Municipal Trial Court in Cities (MTCC) in Danao City and Vice Mayor Ramonito Durano.

Magpale will take her oath of office at 11: a.m.

She invited only the board members, the staff of Durano, Ramos and her staff members.

Meanwhile, Magpale is happy after Gege Sanchez, daughter of the late vice governor Gregorio Sanchez Jr., told the media that she likes Magpale to become the next governor.

“Thank you for the statement of Gege. What I can promise to her is I will do all my best to support the people,” Magpale said.

She said she did not dream of becoming vice governor and she did not expect this to happen.

As the successor of Sanchez, she said she will perform her duties as best as she can, to help the people.

Magpale also assured that the legislative department will remain transparent. She also expressed to the media that she was hurt when a commentator tagged her over the radio as “dawat limpyo.”

“Sakit kay paminawon nga one commentator sa radio giingnan ko nga dawat limpyo, wala baya jud ko magdahom og nangandoy aning pusisyuna,” Magpale said.

Magpale refused to disclose the name of radio station but said she was offended.

She stressed that although she never dreamed of the position, she has to accept it because she is the rightful successor. (FREEMAN)
