Construction worker shot dead
CEBU, Philippines - A 46-year-old construction worker died after he was shot by unidentified assailant in Barangay Lusaran Saturday evening.
Eduardo Cobrado, resident of Sitio Bumbil of the said barangay, was in the house of his sister at about 7:00 p.m. when the unidentified gunman fired at him through the floor which was made of bamboo-splits.
Concordia Mariquit, 33, victim’s live-in partner, said her husband was talking to his sister Joelira over the phone when three burst of gunshot rang out.
Minutes after the gunshot was heard, Mariquit saw her partner slumped on the floor bathed with his blood.
Mariquit said they immediately rushed the victim to the North General Hospital where he was pronounced dead on arrival. Victim sustained gunshot wound on his back.
Police are still investigating the motives behind the case. — (FREEMAN)
