Suspect in Pilar Pilapil's murder try hides in Cebu?
CEBU, Philippines - The Cebu Provincial Police Office is checking reports that one of the suspects in the murder try of actress Pilar Pilapil could be here in the province.
CPPO director Patrocinio Comendador said he received information Rosel Jacosalem Peñas could be hiding in Cebu. Although, the information is considered to be very raw.
“If reports are true we still need the guidance from the body that investigates the case,” Comendador said.
Peñas was Pilapil’s companion when two unidentified carnappers commandeered the actress’ vehicle in Marikina City last April 14. Pilapil was stabbed several times and was thrown off the car at Piedra Blanca Subdivision in Barangay San Luis, Antipolo City.
Peñas, who is allegedly from Barili, Cebu, has since then missing. She was first believed to have been abducted by the carnappers but the police recently considered her as one of the suspects.
Peñas had become a subject of police manhunt after they found several circumstantial evidence showing that she could have staged her own abduction to collect P10 million ransom from Pilapil’s in-laws.
Criminal Investigation and Detection Group director Samuel Pagdilao Jr. said that several teams are already tracking Peñas in some areas in Negros Oriental and Cebu province where she previously stayed with her family. – (FREEMAN)
