CEBU, Philippines - A procession of the image of the Nazareno will be held tomorrow from Tabor Hill down to Saint Thomas Community in Barangay San Jose, Cebu City at 7 pm.
The event is in accordance with the Lenten activities organized by the Order of the Discalced Augustinians (OAD), which opened a Lenten Exhibit at Saint Rita Hall in Tabor Hill showcasing different ‘Pasos’ collection.
The exhibit includes the ‘Pasos’ collections of Dr. Louie Nacorda: statues of Sta. Maria Cleofe, Sta. Maria Jacobi, Sta. Maria Salome, San Pedro, San Longino, Sta. Maria Magdalena, San Juan Apostle, San Entiero and the Mater Dolores.
On Good Friday, ‘Pasos’ will start after the Liturgical Action and Veneration of the Cross.
According to Fr. Dennis Ruiz, a member of OAD, ‘Sugat’ will be celebrated right after the vigil mass which ends at 12 midnight. Unlike other ‘Sugat’ in the province, the OAD will dramatize its ‘Sugat’ using nine statues.
OAD is a religious community composed of 50 priests and more than 40 professed brothers of the order’s Philippine delegation.
Ruiz, not Ruizo as earlier reported, said bigger activities will be made next year. They also plan to construct a three-storey church and a columbarium.
To correct the previous article, it is not the Talamban Parish that will present the ‘Sugat’ and ‘Pasos’ for the first time but the OAD. (FREEMAN NEWS)
