Man shot dead by own brother
CEBU, Philippines - A 29-year-old farmer was shot dead by his younger brother with a homemade shotgun in Barangay Nangka, Boljoon town, last Thursday evening.
Jowawen Gumera Romaguera died after receiving a gunshot wound in the chest after he was shot by his brother Jomar, 25, who is also a farmer.
Based on the investigation conducted by the Boljoon Police Station before the shooting occurred the two had a heated argument regarding the attitude of the suspect whenever he got drunk.
It was said that the suspect always caused trouble in their barangay whenever he got drunk and the victim always reprimanded his younger brother regarding his unruly behavior.
That evening the suspect was again drinking with some of his friends as they celebrated the fiesta in their barangay.
Around 7 p.m. while Jowawen was inside their house, his brother appeared and shot him with the homemade shotgun or “sumpak” hitting him in the chest.
After the said incident, Jomar went to the tanod chief in their barangay and surrendered. He was later turned over to the Boljoon Police Station while the cadaver of the victim was brought to the funeral parlor in Barangay Poblacion.

“Ang amahan gusto unya desidido gyud na mopasaka og kaso batok sa iyang anak,” Villareal said. (FREEMAN)
