2 dead in motorcycle accidents
CEBU, Philippines - A 53-year-old woman died while a man was also killed in two separate accidents involving motorcycles.
Eleuteria Azucena, a widow from Upper Sipaway, Luray II, Toledo City, was pronounced dead an hour after she was hit by a motorcycle driven by 24-year-old Richard Tenajora, 24, single of Tuburan Cebu.
Azucena was crossing Zosa Street, Sipaway, Luray II, Toledo City at about 4:35 in the afternoon of April 5, 2011 when Tenajora, who was traveling was from Poblacion and was heading for towards Barangay Sangi, hit her.
The victim fell on the road, her head hitting the pavement. Bystanders rushed her to the Toledo City Hospital where she died.
The suspect is temporarily detained in the Toledo City Police Station’s detention cell.
In another vehicular accident, a man died after he was hit by a motorcycle while he was walking along the national highway of Moalboal, Cebu at 11:10 p.m. last April 5.
Joselito Sacnanas, 47, single and a resident of Poblacion East, Moalboal, died the day after at the Badian District Hospital where he was taken for treatment.
The motorcycle driver was Rosell Cababat Gonzales, 19, single and a resident of Bugho, Moalboal Cebu. His backrider, 15-year-old Jon Cris Sab-a, was also hurt when they fell from the motorcycle.
Gonzales is still recuperating while Sab-a was already sent home. The motorcycle is now in the custody of Moalboal police station. (FREEMAN)
