Comendador among 3 nominees for CPPO director

CEBU, Philippines - Police Regional Office 7 Director Ager Ontog, Jr. yesterday submitted to Cebu Governor Gwendolyn Garcia the list of three nominees for director of the Cebu Provincial Police Office.

Ontog was accompanied by acting provincial police director Sr. Supt. Patrocinio Comendador, Jr. who is incidentally among the three nominees submitted to Garcia.

The two other nominees are PRO-7 comptroller Sr. Supt. Edward Carranza and PRO-7 Police Community Relations chief Mariano Natu-el, Jr.

The nomination was approved by the Senior Officers Placement Promotion Board (SOPPB).

Garcia is given 10 days from receipt of the list to signify in writing on who among the listed candidates is her choice. The Governor assured Ontog that she will promptly act on it.

“I’ll just wait for the announcement whether I will be chosen by the governor,” Comendador said when sought for comment on his name in the list of nominees.

Garcia’s previous statements however show some inkling on Comendador. In a press conference, Garcia commended the official for being efficient and focused worker as acting CPPO director.

“He has been really performing very commendably. He is Comendador, you see? Commendable Comendador,” Garcia said.

During her meeting with Ontog and Comendador, the problem on the payment of the electric bill of CPPO was discussed but Comendador said details of which shall be disclosed as soon as it is carried out by the PRO-7.

Ontog on the other hand thanks Garcia who set the turnover of two Scene of the Crime Operatives van to CPPO that will be used in crime investigation.

Ontog said the vans will be deployed in the north and south of the Province of Cebu within the month. —(FREEMAN)
