CEBU, Philippines - The mother of Ronron Go, the alleged robber who was allegedly shot by SPO1 Adonis Dumpit, said she likes the case to remain with Regional Trial Court Branch 6.
Janeth Badana told media yesterday she wants the murder case against Dumpit to be handled by Judge Ester Veloso.
“Gusto nako si Judge Veloso kay nasugdan naman but naa ra ni judge,” Badana said. (It’s up to the judge, but I would like her to continue handling the case.)
Dumpit’s camp filed a motion to recuse, saying they lost trust and confidence of getting a fair trial from Veloso.
The lead counsel of Dumpit, lawyer Leslie Salva, had filed the motion. They said they filed their motion because they lost their confidence in Veloso’s capacity to conduct a fair trial, much less render a fair decision on the case.
Meanwhile, Judge Veloso yesterday gave five days for Dumpit’s counsel, lawyer Benjamin Militar, to file the supplement to their motion. They had claimed they will add more grounds to their motion.
“Wala pa to nahuman, in fact taas pa kaayo, amu patong pun-an,” Militar had said. (It’s not complete yet, we plan to add some more.)
Veloso also ordered the camp of Badana to file their comment 15 days after they will receive the supplemental motion of Dumpit.
