CEBU, Philippines - A teacher lost almost P200,000 worth of valuables to an unidentified burglar who broke inside her house in sitio Sto. Niño, Barangay Inayagan, Naga yesterday dawn.
The burglar sneaked inside the house of Elineta Collante, 42, an elementary teacher, who was sleeping inside her house with her family.
The burglary was believed to have been carried out around 1 a.m. to 2 a.m., PO1 Michael Villarmia of the Naga Police Station said.
Villarmia said the burglar apparently had a small build as he was able to get inside the house by entering through a small window of the comfort room.
The burglar then opened the comfort room’s door and went into the living room and took the items near the television set and on the cabinets.
Stolen were two rings amounting to P33,000, a bracelet worth P60,000, three digital cameras all worth P20,500, a video camera worth P35,000 and P540 cash.
Villarmia said the victim and her husband, who were set to fly to Indonesia yesterday, do not have anyone in mind but they think it could be someone familiar with the structure of their house.
Currently, the police official said, the house is under construction and their construction workers sleep around the place. (FREEMAN)
