Woman loses P80T worth of cash, valuables to robbers

CEBU, Philippines - A woman lost almost P80,000 worth of cash and valuables to two armed robbers while inside her vehicle along the national highway of Barangay Luray II, Toledo City Thursday afternoon.

Cresolina Tingal, 48, of Barangay Sto. Niño of the same city was waiting for her son and driver who were in a vulcanizing shop when two unidentified persons approached her.

Police said Tingal’s was seated beside the driver seat of her Isuzu Elf parked along the road and was waiting for her companions who were fixing the deflated tire of the vehicle in a nearby vulcanizing shop.

The victim allegedly first noticed the suspects on the opposite side of the road acting suspiciously.

One of the suspects allegedly poked a gun at her and demanded for her cash and valuables while threatening her not to scream.

After taking the loot, the suspects immediately ride on a black DT Yamaha motorcycle without a plate number and speeded towards Barangay Sangi.

Bystanders claimed they saw the alleged look-out of the suspects onboard a yellow motorcycle also without a plate number and fled towards the same direction.

Policemen were dispatched in the area after Tingal reported the incident but failed to catch up with the perpetrators.

Police said they have pictures of the noted robbery-hold up suspects but the victim could not identify them since she was not able to see their faces. (FREEMAN)
