Two stabbed in Carmen videoke bars

CEBU, Philippines - One killed and another is in critical condition after two separate stabbing incidents in Carmen, northern Cebu over the weekend.

A 30-year-old man was stabbed dead by a 17-year-old on his way home from a videoke house on Saturday dawn at barangay Fuente, Carmen.

The victim, who was stabbed four times, was identified as Adonis Bejoc, 30. He did not reach the Danao District Hospital alive.

Detained at the Carmen police stockade was the 17-year-old “Ado,” who voluntarily turned himself in.

“Ado” was drinking with his two brothers Carmelo and Jaime inside a videoke house when he suddenly stood up and challenged the customers around to a fistfight.

One of the customers, Bryan Florenosos, got irked and punched “Ado.” This resulted in a commotion.

“Ado” then ran home, followed by his brothers. He took a 17-inch knife and went back to the videoke house accompanied by his brothers but Florenosos was already gone.

Upon noticing Florenosos had left, “Ado” stabbed Bejoc, who was walking near the place.

“Ado” surrendered to the policemen while his two brothers fled.

Senior Police Officer 2 Simplicio Gibo said a homicide case will be filed against him today.

Meanwhile, another person is in critical condition after he was stabbed twice by a man inside a videoke house in barangay Poblacion yesterday about 2:50 in the morning.

Glenn Pasahe was immediately rushed to the Danao District Hospital with wounds in his back and face. He was later referred to the Vicente Sotto Memorial Medical Center.

Pasahe and his friends were drinking when the group of a certain Jethro, who were under the influence of liquor, arrived.

“Kadugayan ug inom-inom nagmaoy na sa kahubog nagsuyaay na,” Senior Police Officer 2 Simplicio Gibo said.

Jethro allegedly took a hard pointed object and stabbed Pasahe twice while their friends tried to stop them. Jethro fled while Pasahe was taken to the hospital. (FREEMAN)
