Tomas to the mayor: Reveal 300 concerns
CEBU, Philippines - Cebu City Representative Tomas Osmeña dared Mayor Michael Rama to reveal the “300 concerns” that Rama said the previous administration was unable to solve.
If the mayor will continue to refuse to be “transparent” Osmeña threatened to reveal most of it, and then he said he will let the people decide if his administration has indeed failed to do anything about them.
Rama has refused to reveal the 300 concerns even after the City Council formally asked for them.
The city council passed a resolution requesting Rama to submit a copy of the 300 concerns he said he has been listing since he was still a councilor.
The purpose of passing the resolution is for the council to determine if there is a need for legislative intervention to address these concerns.
But Rama refused to submit a copy saying he has the right to keep it to himself. He however assured that he has started working on the problems now that he is the mayor.
Osmeña said that he already knows most of the concerns that Rama is talking about because Rama’s secretary for two years, who has been diligently taking notes, now works for the congressman.
“I have a lot of it. Let him come up with 300 concerns so I can answer it. It’s not fair that you accuse someone of 300 concerns but he cannot defend it because he has no idea what are these 300 concerns,” Osmeña said.
Osmeña said that if Rama will not reveal them then his accusations are malicious.
Rama announced the 300 concerns during the time he and Osmeña started trading criticisms.
Osmeña criticized the style and new policies of his successor saying they are not in accordance with the principle of the Bando Osmeña-Pundok Kauswagan which made him win the election. — (FREEMAN)
