"Salvage" victim found in Barili
CEBU, Philippines - An unidentified person believed to be a “salvage” victim was found with a single gunshot wound in the head at a very secluded area in Sitio Palalong, Guibuangan, Barili Saturday evening.
The man whose both hands and feet were tied with a packaging tape was dumped 100 meters away from the place where the body of six-year-old Ellah Joy Pique was found.
The victim, described as 5’0 to 5’5 tall, slim built, wearing a white T-shirt with black under shirt and only wearing underwear, was stashed in a black garbage bag. His eyes and mouth were covered with a packaging tape with a line that reads “piyait must die” written in a black pentel pen.
A line that reads “Idol ko si Angelo Reyes, kawatan ko” was also written in a pink-colored sign pen on his white T-shirt.
Senior Police Officer 4 Andres Alpas, deputy of Barili police station, said that a group of male persons from Barangay Kanyuko, Dumanjug found the dead body about 1:00 a.m. while they were onboard a multicab bound for Barangay Kagay, Barili to attend a benefit dance.
An empty shell of a .45 caliber ammunition was found at the crime scene believed to have been used to shoot the victim. The police could not tell yet whether the victim is from Barili or not because nobody reported to the police station about a missing person.
Alpas said they are waiting for the family of the victim to come. The body is now in Tupas Funeral Homes in Carcar. — (FREEMAN)
