Sanchez to leave son alone to answer charges

-

CEBU, Philippines - Cebu Vice Governor Gregorio Sanchez Jr. is not meddling into the   case of his son Leodegreco who has been accused of mauling their three house helpers.

Sanchez said his son will have to face the charges on his own should their helpers file a complaint.

“If he breaks the law, and they felt aggrieved, let them file proper charges,” Sanchez said.

As a father Sanchez said, the most that he can do to help Greco is to provide him a lawyer to protect his Constitutional right.

The Vice Governor said Greco is already of legal age and has his own family. He added that Greco should be responsible enough of his actions.

Three of Sanchez’s helpers left after they were allegedly hurt and threatened by Greco.

Ledelina Barilos, 59, of Tacdog, Barangay Poblacion, Carcar alleged that Greco mauled her last Friday evening.

The Vice Governor said that Barilos told him about the incident but he did not see any bruises. Barilos has been a helper of Sanchez for seven years now.

According to Barilos, two other helpers, Lourdes 41, of Cordova, and her minor daughter were also punched by Greco.

Greco allegedly got angry when his three months old baby was put to sleep in his sister’s room. According to Barilos, the baby was crying prompting Greco’s sister Gierly to have the baby in her room.

However, Greco got mad when he and his wife arrived past midnight upon learning that their baby was his sister’s room.

Sanchez however questioned the motive of Barilos in reporting the incident to the media. He said Barilos should not have gone to the media if she wants him to help her. (FREEMAN)
