CEBU, Philippines - A German national was tied and her mouth was taped while her house was burglarized by an unidentified man on Wednesday evening at barangay Guiwang, Alcoy.
Brigette Parker, 68, lost her gold necklace worth P25,000, a silver owl pin, a beige round necklace and other accessories including her P6,000 cash inside her safety vault.
Parker was sleeping when a man wearing a mask and armed with a gun and knife entered her room and warned her not to shout.
The man immediately tied the victim and taped her mouth with a packaging tape before he destroyed the drawer where the vault was placed.

The man was successful in taking her valuables and jumped over the perimeter fence of the house.
Parker was able to untie herself and called her house helper, Liza Sital, who is living 20 meters away from her house.
A resident nearby said she saw a man acting suspiciously and appeared to be monitoring from outside the victim’s house a day before the incident.
Police Officer 2 Raul Medez said they are looking into the possibility of an inside job. They are now investigating all the helpers of the victim.
