Cebu schools get 10 daycare classrooms
CEBU, Philippines - Presidential sister Pinky Aquino Abellada yesterday turned over eight daycare classrooms to the different school beneficiaries in Cebu of the Aklat, Gabay, Aruga tungo sa Pag-Angat at Pag-Asa Foundation Incorporated or AGAPP.
Abellada, AGAPP chairperson, will turnover two more classrooms today in Jaclupan Elementary School.
Abellada visited Cambanay Elementary School in Danao City, Subangdaku Elementary School and Labogon Elementary School in Mandaue and Pulangbato Elementary School in Cebu City yesterday to turnover two daycare classrooms each.
She said eight more classrooms will be built by the foundation in Cebu in the coming days. Gabby Cruz, AGAPP local representative, said these will be built in Pinamungahan, Minglanilla, Dalaguete and Carcar.
Each classroom measures 160-square meter complete with books, tables and chairs and a toilet. The classroom costs between P700,000 to P800,000 each.
Cruz said they are on target in building a little over a hundred classrooms nationwide in a span of one year. According to Cruz, Cebu is among the top beneficiaries of the AGAPP program.
AGAPP's short term goal is to build 100 schools in 300 days and 2,000 classrooms / libraries by 2016 nationwide.
Cruz added that so far, private companies and other foundations already committed to support their advocacy as part of their corporate social responsibility. (FREEMAN)
