Woman loses P74T to four robbers

CEBU, Philippines - Four unidentified motorcycle-riding robbers robbed a woman of her P74,000 cash while she was walking on her way to a bank in Carcar Wednesday morning.

Police said Michelle Enad, 30, resident of barangay Lantawan, San Fernando, was walking on San Vicente St., barangay Poblacion, Carcar on her way to deposit the money when four men, who were on board two separate motorcycles stopped near her.

Enad said the incident happened just a few meters away from Fair Bank where she was supposed to deposit the amount, which she placed inside a small hand bag.

The victim said the suspects approached her and two men, who were both riding on pillion, disembarked and pointed an unknown caliber of firearm at her and declared a hold-up.

Afraid, Enad voluntarily surrendered her bag to the suspects who hurriedly fled towards Barili town.

The victim immediately reported the incident at the police station but police officers who went after the suspects failed to catch them.

SPO1 Reynaldo Fuentes said the victim went home right after she had the incident recorded in the police blotter.

“Wala ni-cooperate ang biktima, nilakaw ra pud dayon wa gani plate number nakuha. Wa pa gyud namo siya mapangutana og maayo,” Fuentes said.

In Cordova, another woman lost her gold necklace worth P55,000 to a robber along M.L. Quezon highway, Barangay Dapitan, about 11:00 in the morning.

Asteria Tychen, 44, a resident of barangay San Miguel, said she was standing on the road waiting for a ride when two suspects, who were on board a motorcycle, stopped in front of her and pointed a gun at her declaring a hold-up.

One of the suspects, who was on back ride, then snatched her necklace before speeding away towards the Poblacion.

Tychen said the suspects were wearing black jackets with bonnets and helmets and were using a black motorcycle without plate number. (FREEMAN)
