Teacher dies in highway accident

CEBU, Philippines - A high school teacher died while her husband was injured when the motorcycle they were riding crashed along the highway of Barangay Binabag, Bogo Monday evening.

Fideliza Alilin, 26, died from an injury in her head as her husband, Jake, 27, sustained injuries to different parts of his body.

They were both rushed to Bogo District Hospital where Fideliza was declared dead on arrival.

The report said Jake was fetching his wife from Daanbantayan National High School where she was teaching.

While heading home onboard their motorcycle, Jake suddenly lost control as he tried to maneuver the motorcycle upon reaching a curve lane. The victims were dragged to the edge of the road.

Bogo Traffic Investigator PO3 George Ocena said the victims were traveling on a high speed during the incident.

“Medyo kusog pud siguro ilang dagan kay naapikihan man ni sila pag-abot na sa kurbada nga dalan,” Ocena told The Freeman. – THE FREEMAN
