Man stabbed by his girlfriend's brother

CEBU, Philippines - An 18-year-old man was stabbed by the brother of his girlfriend while strolling at the public plaza in Barangay Ticad, Bantayan about 1 a.m. Wednesday.

Ramil Poster, sustained a stab wound in his left breast and was rushed to Bantayan District Hospital by his girlfriend Carmelyn Alob, 18, while suspect, Jerecho Alob, 31, immediately fled right after the incident.

Police disclosed that Jerecho did not approve of Poster to be the boyfriend of his younger sister after he and the victim had a heated argument while having a drinking session a month ago. The suspect allegedly threatened Poster not to court his sister or he will get hurt.

On Wednesday, when Jerecho saw the two heading home from the plaza, he suddenly blocked their way and stabbed Poster in his left breast.

Carmelyn immediately brought her boyfriend to the police station and asked for assistance.

Meanwhile, a man landed at the hospital after he was stabbed by his housemate in Barangay Labangon, Cebu City at 4 a.m. yesterday.

The victim Armando Piamonte, 46, was stabbed by Ricky “Eking” Ang, 22, while he was sleeping in the same house with the suspect.

Piamonte alleged he was sleeping inside the room of  Ang’s house, when the latter suddenly stabbed him for unknown reason.

Catherine Enriquez, the victim’s live-in partner, was shocked when he saw him bleeding. She then rushed him to Cebu City Medical Center.

Piamonte voluntarily surrendered himself to responding policemen from the Cebu City Police Office.,  /WAB (FREEMAN)
