Tanods arrest "drunk" man

CEBU, Philippines -  A man believed to be drunk was arrested for allegedly causing trouble and threatening to kill a tanod the other day in sitio Salvador, barangay Tangke, Talisay City.

Complainant Olimar Martenen, 37, said Ariel Abarquez, of Salvador, just went inside his house and started breaking things there.

Martenen called barangay tanods Dominic Baguio, Edgar Villarin and Arturo Daan for help.

But based on the initial investigation of the city police, instead of surrendering to the tanods, the suspect was reportedly provoked by their presence, allegedly continued breaking things, and challenged the tanods of a fistfight.

Once arrested, Abarquez was also heard as saying to Baguio: "Pagbantay og makagawas ko sa prisohan kay hutdon nako ang inyong pamilya."

Abarquez is now detained at the Talisay city Police Station waiting for charges to be filed against him. — THE FREEMAN
