CEBU, Philippines - Cebu City Police director Ramon Melvin Buenafe claimed to have already identified the cohorts of suspected drug pusher Maria Theresa Gimenez, whom the police caught with P1.2 million worth of shabu during a buy-bust operation Tuesday dawn.
Buenafe said Gimenez’s cohorts are already under tight surveillance of the police and the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency.
Buenafe said that the more than 200 grams of shabu, which they have confiscated from Gimenez, came from Manila. According to him, Gimenez admitted during tactical interrogation that her suppliers are Chinese nationals from Manila.
Buenafe however refused to reveal the names saying they are still conducting follow-up operations.
Buenafe said the arrest of Gimenez, who is a cousin of suspected HongKong triad member Giovannie “Nanan” Gimenez, has reduced the drug supply in Cebu.
He said they are expecting increase of drug supply because of the holidays and the upcoming Sinulog. In fact, the police reported earlier an increase of the prices of shabu.
Gimenez was arrested Tuesday dawn in one of the rooms of an uptown pension house during a buy bust operation. She was caught selling more than 200 grams of shabu amounting to P1.2 million to an undercover police operative. — THE FREEMAN
