CEBU, Philippines - High School graduates from the different barangays in Consolacion, Cordova, Mandaue City, and other neighboring cities and towns of Cebu province will be the target beneficiaries of the scholarship program of the Technical Education and Skills Development Authority in Central Visayas.
Global Power Skills Development Center, one of the recipients of this year's Training for Work Scholarship Program, is working closely with TESDA in the implementation of the program.
Glenn A. Soco, president of Global Power Skills Development Center, told The Freeman he was happy that the new leadership of TESDA has continued the scholarship program that benefits high school graduates.
TESDA director general Joel Villanueva has continued the implementation of the program, although he wants to bring the program to the grassroots level.
According to Soco, his office has implemented the program of TESDA and has brought the program to the barangay level.
"Nakig coordinate gayud kita sa mga kapitan sa barangay sa nagkalain-laing mga lungsod kay sila mao man ang nasayud sa kahimtang sa mga mulopyo sa ilang tagsatagsa ka lugar," said Soco.
Soco said his company focuses on providing training that are most in need such as bar tending, housekeeping, food and beverage services, barista, commercial cooking, baking and pastry. - THE FREEMAN
