Lapu-Lapu to help tourists visiting Olango
CEBU, Philippines - Lapu-Lapu City will coordinate with beach resorts in Olango Island and in neighboring islets in taking care of tourists after learning that some of these resorts fall short of their promises made on the internet.
Tourists are lured to these beaches with pictures in the internet which show facilities that offer wonderful amenities and transportation.
But when tourists arrive, they find out the promises aren't there, especially transportation.
Lapu-Lapu City officials have one thing to say to prospective tourists: verify first through telephone or email, and not to rely on the internet for information.
Former Lapu-Lapu City councilor Damian Gomez, Jr., in previous interview with The FREEMAN, said the city is coordinating with these beach resorts to avoid problems later with customers.
Gomez is chairman of the Lapu-Lapu City Tourism Commission on Historical Affairs. (FREEMAN NEWS)
