Vidal thanks Cebuanos in last Christmas message

- Joey Cindy M. Semblante -

CEBU, Philippines - In his last Christmas message as the head of the Cebu Archdiocese, Archbishop Ricardo Cardinal Vidal expressed his heartfelt gratitude to the Cebuanos.

Vidal offered dawn Masses in nine parishes of Cebu that he established starting last December 16, Thursday, at St. Francis of Assisi Parish in Barangay Maslog, Danao City.

For the next days he celebrated Masses at the Our Lady of the Holy Rosary Parish, Tuyan, Naga; San Roque Parish, Yati, Liloan; Christ the King Parish, Alang-alang, Mandaue City; St. Peter the Apostle Parish, Taytay, Danao City; Sto. Niño de Cebu Parish, Mohon, Talisay City; San Roque Parish, Lipata, Minglanilla; Our Lady of the Rosary Parish, Inayagan, Naga; and Sto.

Vidal cited the Third Joyful Mystery as the core and the reason for all the celebration, which is the birth of Christ.

Vidal is set to be replaced by Bishop Jose Palma by February of next year when Vidal turns 80 years old. —/BRP (FREEMAN)
