CEBU, Philippines - Police filed charges yesterday morning in the Talisay City Prosecutor's Office against a former member of the Talisay City Intelligence Bureau (TCIB) for alleged illegal possession of firearms.
Jolito Labrador of sitio Caduldulan, barangay Lawaan III, was arrested the other day after police found in his home a .45 caliber pistol, one magazine with four live ammunition, and two empty shells of a .357 caliber revolver during a search.
Labrador has also been linked to the Dec 8 killing of Rolly Rodrigo, head security guard of Alpha Executive Homes in Lawaan III.
Rodrigo was shot several times on the back while on his way to work. He sustained five gunshot wounds which killed him.
Labrador has however denied all the allegations.
For his part, Supt. Henry Biñas, chief of the Talisay City Police Station, said they are still pursuing the investigation into the case to determine the mastermind of Rodrigo's murder.
Labrador, who was dismissed from the TCIB for his alleged misdemeanor issues, has been linked to the crime after police reportedly received reports that it was allegedly he who hired a gunman to kill Rodrigo for P17,000.
The person he hired however had backed down being Rodrigo’s friend.
Earlier, Rodrigo's family accused Customs broker and Alpha Executive Homes homeowner Bensing Raguindin as the alleged mastermind.
Raguindin reportedly were at odds with Rodrigo due to subdivision policy issues.
Even before Rodrigo's death, a group of homeowners, Raguindin included, had reportedly refused to acknowledge the present set of officers for some reasons. And because of the conflict, they have since stopped paying their monthly dues that guards have also refused to open the gates for them.
Raguindin, who has since denied the allegation, had said he is willing to face an investigation regarding the incident. – (THE FREEMAN)
