CEBU, Philippines - A job-order employee of the San Fernando Municipal Government, who was accused of punching someone, went to the barangay hall for the hearing of a case against him.
But Ruben Cabagti, 22, ended up being detained even before the hearing could start yesterday morning after the police found him bringing two .45 caliber pistols and 12 live ammunitions
PO2 Alvin Enard and PO1 Salvador Saavedra found the suspicious clutch bag that Cabagti was holding.
The two policemen were present at the Sangat barangay hall because the barangay secretary requested for police assistance during the hearing on Cabagti’s case.
Cabagti, who works under the town’s fire department, initially refused to hand in the clutch bag but later give in to the police.
Cabagti was facing a complaint before the barangay for allegedly punching a certain John Michael Flores.
Flores, according to the report, was jeering at Cabagti’s younger brother.
“Gikantiyawan ang manghod unya nitug-an sa maguwang, sa kasuko nasumbagan si Flores,” SPO1 Francisco Salubre told The Freeman.
San Fernando Police Inspector Carlos Reyes Jr. said that a complaint for illegal possession of firearm will be filed against Cabagti today. (FREEMAN)
