CEBU, Philippines - A new engineering district in Cebu was created to ensure the implementation of infrastructure projects in the sixth district and the lone district of Lapu-Lapu City.
Sixth district Rep. Luigi Quisumbing said he requested for the creation of the 6th engineering district of the Department of Public Works and Highways so that focus will be given to his district.
The newly created engineering district will be headed by Jun Suico, who came from DPWH central office in Manila.
The neophyte congressman said that infrastructure projects intended for Mandaue City and the towns of Consolacion and Cordova including Lapu-Lapu City will be transferred to the new engineering district from the DPWH’s 1st engineering district.
The towns in the fourth and fifth district will remain under the jurisdiction of the first engineering district.
“With this new engineering district, focus will be given for infra projects for the sixth district and Lapu-Lapu City,” Quisumbing said. (FREEMAN)
