"Nude" cop tagged AWOL anew

- Ria Mae Y. Booc -

CEBU, Philippines - The police officer who was earlier arrested in Leyte after creating trouble and scandal while on board a ship faces another investigation for failure to report for duty after a 10-day suspension.

PO2 Rodelo Pilapil, Jr. was marked absent without official leave since December 11 after he failed to report to the Provincial Security Service Group where he was assigned following his relief from Medellin.

The provincial headquarters placed him under suspension for 10 days effective December 1 also for AWOL. He was supposed to report back for duty on December 11 but Pilapil did not show up until yesterday.

Provincial Investigative Branch (PIB) chief, Senior Inspector Ruben Cuizon, said Pilapil will have to face another investigation for his failure to report for duty.

“His suspension ended December 10 but until now wala pa siya,” Cuizon said.

Pilapil’s earlier suspension stemmed from his failure to inform his superior officer when he traveled to Leyte for two days.

During his authorized trip to Leyte Pilapil created a scene in the ship by brandishing his firearm and taking off his pants and undergarments.

He was later arrested in Pingag Ferry Terminal at Barangay Matlang, Isabel Leyte after the crew of Malverick Ferry asked help from Pingag Patrol Base.

Pilapil was charged in Leyte for violation of the Comelec gun ban. (FREEMAN)
