Bridge board renews contract for security men

-

CEBU, Philippines - The Mactan Cebu Bridge Management Board (MCBMB) approved yesterday the renewal of contract with outsourcing agency for the three personnel of the Traffic Security Monitoring System (TSMS) for another six months next year.

To undertake the TSMS expansion project from January to June 2011 of the MCBMB are systems operators Leo Bacus and computer operators Bernardo Cabassi and Gerald Glenn Pedrera.

The three personnel replaced the blue guards, which have been phased-out.

During yesterday’s board meeting called by Governor Gwendolyn Garcia, Bacus updated the board of the TSMS expansion project.

As of December 15, 2010, all the 32 out of 40 units of internet protocol (IP) cameras were delivered and installed while eight pan tilt zoom (PTZ) cameras for first phase relocated to new locations.

All cameras at second bridge are operational and delivered per specifications and network video recorders installed that are good for five-day storage.

Telephone and internet connectivity (at a cost of P3,000 per month) were established and network infrastructure laid out.

Inter-Agency coordinating System units are deployed at five stations, operational and subject to further usability and security testing.

License plate recognition systems are also deployed but only operational during daytime.

Lighting fixtures were also installed which include four floodlamps and two spotlights underneath each bridge. (FREEMAN)
