CEBU, Philippines – Barangay Pajo captain Leo Mercado was reelected yesterday as president of the Association of the Barangay Councils in Lapu-Lapu City. He ran unopposed.
Mercado got 27 out of a possible 30 votes. Two barangay captains were absent while one abstained.
Absent were barangay Basak captain Isabelito Darnayla and barangay Suba-Basbas captain Josepth Tibon.
Mercado after the proclamation expressed his thanks to the captains for their continued support.
Mercado said that since this is his second and last term as barangay captain of Pajo he will work for the continuing development the Association of Barangay Councils.
He said he will divide the district allocation given to him as an ex-officio member of the city council of Lapu-Lapu.
He said addressing the garbage problem would be one of the priority programs of his administration.
Also elected were Elias Berdin as vice president; Mario Inot, Auditor; Johnnita Amorin, Jose Dungog, Mateo Dungog, Lauro Sorono, Jimmy Ybañez, Ferdinand Cajilog, Tranquilino Omolon Jr, and Joseph Pangatungan, members of the board of directors were. (FREEMAN)
