CEBU, Philippines – A 29-year-old father ended the life of his one-year-old son by hacking him several times in Barangay Marabilla, Tabuelan at about 3 p.m. on Sunday.
James Amper Taglupoc suffered from lacerated wounds in the head, face and neck. Police also said that the suspect, Alfredo Taglupoc, 29, slammed the boy against the wall twice before he put him on the mound of charcoal and hacked him several times.

The victim's sister, Myrelle Pitogo, 9, said she was forced to hand in her brother to the suspect after he threatened to kill her if she won't follow his order.
Without a word, the suspect suddenly slammed the boy against the wall that rendered the victim unconscious. He then placed the boy on the mound of charcoal and hacked him repeatedly.

When she arrived, she was surprised when she saw her child lying on a pool of blood and beside him was her shocked sister.
"Dagko og tinigbasan ang ilong paingon sa aping, nalangkat ang nawong hasta ang liog gigulgol pa gyud," Maribelle said in a phone interview.
Alfredo went on hiding at the house of his uncle in the mountain barangay of Kantubaon where he was arrested by the barangay tanods about 10:30 in the morning yesterday.
He tried to resist arrest but he was subdued and immediately handcuffed by the police officers.
Maribelle narrated that her husband has just became a member of "Tagod-Tagod" gang where he failed to memorize the scriptures.
"Nalisuan siguro siya kay wa siya ka-memorya sa Latin unya karon moingon siya nga wala niya tuyo-a kay nalimot lang kuno siya," she said.
