CEBU, Philippines – The Mandaue City council yesterday approved and adopted the city's Annual Investment Plan for the year 2011.
Officer-in-charge Engr. Florentino Nimor prepared the P86.4 million AIP for next year which will cover all citywide projects, which includes the installation and rehabilitation of traffic lights with an estimated cost of P30 million, P20 million for concrete paving ,asphalt overlay, improvement, maintenance of various roads, P20 million for lot acquisition for housing sites, P1.4 million for lot acquisition for road rights of ways, P3 million for Installation and improvement of sidewalks, P5 million for construction, repair and improvement of government buildings and other structures.
The budget for the AIP comes from the 20% development fund of the annual budget.
The city government is also set to implement next year the city's comprehensive drainage plan with an initial budget of P10 million, still under the AIP.
The master drainage plan was initiated by former Mandaue City Mayor now Provincial board Member Thadeo Ouano and it cost the city P11.4 million. (FREEMAN)
