Aid to Liloan's poor to continue

CEBU, Philippines - Medical assistance to poor residents in Liloan town will continue, Mayor Vincent Franco "Duke" Frasco assured senior citizens yesterday.

Frasco made the assurance during his visit to barangays as part of his program to bring the government closer to the people.

One of the priority programs of his administration is to address the health problems among the residents, he said.

Frasco said funds are set aside for poor residents and the elderly who are admitted at the Vicente Sotto Memorial Medical Center.

The mayor said during the time of his father, the late mayor Panphil Frasco, the residents health was always a priority.

Although he was abroad most of the time when he was younger, he could remember a number of residents visiting their house and asking assistance for money to buy medicine.

"Problema gayud sa panglawas maoy nag-una nga problema sa atong mga kaigsoonan dinhi sa lungsod sa Liloan mao nga gihatagan gayud nato kini sa igong pagtagad," said Mayor Frasco. (FREEMAN)
