CEBU, Philippines – The newly-promoted general of the Philippine Air Force at the Mactan Benito Ebuen Air Base yesterday assured the AFP will continue working with the community to maintain peace and order not only in Mactan but also in neighboring provinces and in the Visayas and Mindanao.
Brig. Gen. Raul L. Dimatatac, Wing Commander, 560th Air Base Wing, made the assurance at yesterday's Testimonial Review honoring him after his promotion to one-star rank.
Aside from Dimatatac, promoted to One-star rank were Brigadier General Neal P. Gacrama, Wing Commander of 355th Air Engineering Wing; Brig. Gen. Eldon Luis P. Nemenzo, vice chairman of Armed Forces of the Philippines Bids And Awards Committee-1; Brig. Gen. Fred M. Payawan, acting Wing Commander, 600th Air Base Wing, and Brig. Gen. Edwin Manuel Remotigue, Wing Commander, Air Defense Wing.
Dimatatac acknowledged the support of the men and women in uniform at the Mactan Benito Ebuen Air Base.
Dimatatac, who is serving his 39th year as member of the Philippine Air Force said he had encountered all sacrifices during his years of service, and his promotion is the best gift for all his sacrifices.
Yesterday's Testimonial Review was highlighted by a silent drill performed by an all-female silent drill squadron with 55 members coming from different regions in the country.
Also, members of the 2nd Air Division, 560th Air Base Wing, 205th Tactical Helicopter Wing and 220th Airlift Wing showcased the highlights of Air Force competencies and the different functions of units. (FREEMAN)
