CEBU, Philippines - A priest was hurt after the car he was driving rammed into a taxicab that suddenly blocked his way along Cabreros St. in Barangay Basak-Pardo, Cebu City last Friday morning.
The victim was identified as Fr. Arturo Bornia of the Saint Joseph Parish in Talisay City. The taxicab driver, on the other hand, was Primitivo Gadiangon.
Bornia was driving a multicab from Tabunok, Talisay City bound for Cebu City when a taxicab suddenly appeared in front of him and blocked his way when he reached Cabreros St.
With the sudden turn of incident, the victim immediately applied brakes but his vehicle bumped into the left side of the taxicab.
He bumped his forehead on the front part of the vehicle. With his forehead already bloodied, went out of his vehicle and tried to flag down a taxicab that could take him to the Cebu City Medical Center (CCMC) for treatment.
The priest was not able to find a taxi until an ABS-CBN patrol car passed by and saw him. The media crew took him to the CCMC.
A concerned citizen who was able to get the name of the taxi driver informed the police of the incident. (FREEMAN)
