Two men arrested for shabu

- Ria Mae Y. Booc -

CEBU, Philippines – Police arrested a man after he was found in possession of 10 small plastic sachets believed to contain shabu amounting to P3,000 around 7 a.m. in Barangay North Poblacion, San Fernando town, last Saturday.

It was an informant who tipped the San Fernando police that a certain Charlestone Jumaoas, 26, a resident of barangay San Roque, Talisay City, was a supplier of illegal drugs in the said barangay.

Police personnel immediately conducted a short briefing and a saturation drive.

Jumaoas was arrested right few minutes after he disembarked from a mini-bus coming from Cebu City bound for Carcar.

"Pagkanaog niya sa mini-bus giduol dayon namo siya," said PO1 Salvador Saavedra.

Jumaoas tried to resist arrest but he was immediately handcuffed by the police team.

Meanwhile, another man was arrested after police confiscated a small plastic sachet of suspected shabu from him in Barangay Poblacion, Danao City, around 8 p.m. last Friday.

Danao police personnel arrested Rolito Martel, 25, a resident of Barangay Binaliw.

PO3 Ryan Batiquen said they immediately responded after a concerned citizen called the Danao Police Station about a group having a pot session at a secluded area along Ralota St., Barangay Poblacion.

When they got there the men scampered away and the police were only able to arrest Martel.

"As part of our standard operating procedure, we frisked him and recovered a sachet of illegal drugs," Batiquen said.

Jumaoas is detained in the Danao Police Station and will face charges for violating Republic Act 9165. (FREEMAN)
