CEBU, Philippines – For punching the live-in partner of his drinking buddy, a 39-year-old man was killed Sunday evening in barangay Inuboran, Naga City.
Petrolino Alfar died 30 minutes after he was brought to the South General Hospital because of gunshot wound in the head. Edelberto Paunel, 48, shot the victim at 7:00 p.m. Sunday while they were having a drinking session.
Police Officer 1 Neil Villaceran said Paunel was prompted to kill Alfar after the latter punched his live-in partner.
Initial investigation revealed that the two are harboring ill-feelings against each other. Because of drunkenness Alfar could not anymore contain his bad feelings and punched the suspect's live-in partner.
"Pirmi naman ni sila mag-lalis kuno basta maka-inom kay mag-maoy man kuno ning biktima," Villaceran told The FREEMAN.
Villaceran said that when Paunel saw his live-in partner being hit the suspect stood up, put his arm around Alfar and shot him using a caliber .38 revolver. Paunel fled after the incident.
Meanwhile, a 22-year-old man was shot dead while watching television inside his house in Danao City.
Antonio Toledo died on the spot because of a single gunshot wound in the head. Two unidentified persons said to have shot the victim at 6:00 p.m. Sunday. The assailants fled on board a motorcycle after the incident. (FREEMAN)
