CEBU, Philippines – A barangay tanod was shot dead in Barangay Upper Panadtaran, San Fernando yesterday morning.

Ricardo Guia, 38, resident of the said place died of the gunshot wounds in the forehead and in the body after he was shot by Dante Jerome Tangub, 40, resident of Center Tunggo.

The victim was on his way to testify against Tangub in the barangay hall because of the latter's accusation that Upper Panadtaran lost its water connection because the money intended for their bills was allegedly pocketed by their barangay captain.

Police Officer 3 Oscar Carbonila said Guia reported Tangub's accusation to the barangay captain which was supposed to be heard yesterday.

But, Tangub run after the victim and shot him in the forehead and in the body. Guia was rushed to the South General Hospital but died hours later.
