Police abandon Joavan chase

- Ria Mae Y. Booc -

CEBU, Philippines – The police in Talisay City will no longer look for Joavan Fernandez after he had figured in a vehicular accident involving a police patrol car since the cases filed by the police are already due for preliminary investigation.

PO3 Joel Rosales said Joavan has 90 days to submit his counter-affidavit but if the fiscal finds probable cause, the case will be filed in court and a warrant will be issued for his arrest.

Joavan is facing two criminal cases for malicious mischief and direct assault after he allegedly rammed his sports utility vehicle into a patrol car Sunday.

The police will also file a separate complaint against Joavan for the use of the "MAYOR" plate number. (FREEMAN)
