Girl killed, boy hurt in ambush
CEBU, Philippines – A 16-year-old girl allegedly affiliated with the street gang called "Crips" was killed while her companion, a 16-year-old boy who allegedly belongs to the same gang, was wounded after being shot at by men on motorcycles Sunday dawn in sitio Pulang-bukid in barangay Alang-alang, Mandaue City.
The Mandaue City Police Office Homicide Section said prior to the shooting, the two juveniles were drinking with friends at a store in Plaridel Street corner United Nations Avenue in Pulangbukid and at around 1 a.m. the group decided to call it a day.
The two juveniles, Allan Paul Zamora of Purok Lemonsito of barangay Umapad and Jessa dela Cruz of sitio Salvacion in barangay Maguikay, Mandaue City had just emerged from the store when two motorcycles with two passengers on each stopped near them, Homicide said.
Homicide said two passengers of the motorcycles each pulled out a gun and fired at Zamora and dela Cruz, hitting Zamora on the stomach and dela Cruz on her left breast.
The juveniles' other companions took the wounded Zamora and dela Cruz to the Mandaue City Hospital.
Dela Cruz died in the hospital.
Zamora remains in confinement, Homicide said. (FREEMAN)
