National group assures Vidal of advocacy vs RH Bill
CEBU, Philippines – Members of the National Federation of Religious Brothers in the Philippines (NFRBP) have assured outgoing Cebu Archbishop Ricardo Cardinal Vidal that they will continue the advocacies of Catholic Church, including a strong opposition against the passage of the proposed Reproductive Health Bill.
The NFRBP, a member of the Association of the Major Religious Superiors of Men in the Philippines, will be having its 10th national convention that will kick of today at the Cebu Hidden Paradise Resort in San Fernando, Cebu.
Vidal is one of the guest speakers during the three-day event. He will officiate the concluding mass on the 24th at 8:00 am at the Holy Family Retreat House in Lahug, Cebu City.
Bro. Carlo Bacalla, NFRBP chairman, said the convention will give them all an opportunity to bid Vidal farewell. Vidal's successor, Archbishop Jose Palma, will be formally installed as the new Archbishop of Cebu on January 13, 2011 in time for the Sinulog week.
Bacalla said that the convention theme, "Brother Ako, noon, ngayon, at mag-pakailanman," is reflective of their past, present, and future as "men consecrated to God and dedicated to the service of their fellowmen."
Bacalla said that they are expecting around 250 religious brothers from different religious congregations, orders, and societies all over the Philippines to attend the assembly. (FREEMAN)
