Police find marijuana in German's residence

CEBU, Philippines – Police have yet to decide whether to take a German national to court for the alleged ten sticks of rolled marijuana allegedly found on the roof of the comfort room of his house in baragay Cabancalan, Mandaue City last Monday evening.

Raymond Ellington, 60, a German national earlier reported to the police that his rented house at Hidden Homes Subdivision was broken into and only found out about it upon his arrival from Dumaguete City last Monday evening.

Ellington said no one was at home when his house was broken into and $5,500 dollars which was kept in a cabinet was missing.

Thinking that he had only misplaced the money, he allowed policemen to search his house and the police found sticks of marijuana on the roof of a comfort room outside his house.

The German believes the sticks of marijuana was placed there on purpose by someone else.

Morpos said when men from the Casuntingan police station responded to Ellington's complaint, someone told the police that marijuana sticks are to be found on the roof of the comfort room of Ellington's rented house.

Investigative and Detective Management Bureau (IDMB) chief

P/Insp. Ramil Morpos said they are still undecided whether to file charges against Ellington.

Morpos said they have to find out whether the marijuana belonged to Ellington. He said there is also the possibility the marijuana was planted. (FREEMAN)
