Lapu-Lapu okays annual invest plan
CEBU, Philippines – The Lapu-Lapu City council has approved the Annual Investment Plan of the city for 2011 allocating P89 million to it that would set several projects into motion.
The Annual Investment Plan would also purchase chemicals and finance activities related to the campaign against dengue.
Lapu-Lapu has registered three deaths this year caused by the dengue disease.
Aside from the allocation for dengue, the plan will also address the drainage problem.
Mayor Paz Radaza has said some barangays encounter drainage problems on rainy days.
During the administration of her husband, former mayor and now lone district of Lapu-Lapu Rep. Arturo Radaza attempted to fix the problem but some barangays including Basak, Poblacion, Gunob, Pajo, and Pusok still experience drainage problems.
Mayor Radaza, on the other hand, said she will prioritize the city's drainage. (FREEMAN)
