Trisikad driver shot dead
CEBU, Philippines – A trisikad driver was shot dead yesterday afternoon by two unidentified motorcycle-riding men in Barangay San Nicolas proper.
Dexter Ejares, 37, of Barangay Pasil, died of three gunshot wounds on his face and the body.
The victim was driving his trisikad on his way home after attending the burial of a neighbor at V. Rama when the gunmen shot him several times in front of his son and his nephew.
The unidentified assailants immediately fled towards Barangay Duljo-Fatima. The victim was rushed to the Cebu City Medical Center where he was declared dead on arrival.
The police are eyeing personal grudge as possible motive behind the killing.
Meanwhile, a 53-year-old man hanged himself in Barangay Guba because of alleged depression for having no money to go home to Mindanao.
Ricardo Cagal, native of Panaon, Misamis Occidental, was found dead Monday afternoon with a shoelace tied on his neck.
Cagal's brother, Antonio, said his brother wanted to go home to Mindanao but did not have money for his fare. The police found no indications of foul play in the incident. (FREEMAN)
